About Carl's Custom Loudspeakers
The Classic Loudspeaker Services website is operated by Carl's Custom Loudspeakers which has been in business since the summer of 2004.

My business has grown out of a hobby that started in 1990. In early years I designed and built a number of speakers for myself and others. They have included a satalite/subwoofer system, transmission line and horn woofer projects and novel two-way designs. I have also had three articles published in Speaker Builder Magazine1. I am also the secretary of the Connecticut Audio Society.

I specialize in repairing and upgrading both vintage and contemporary home audio loudspeakers. Primary areas of expertise include refoaming woofer surrounds, reconing, crossover upgrades and wood veneered cabinet revitalization. Guitar amplifier and p.a. loudspeakers are also very much within the scope of my capabilities.

For refoaming and reconing jobs, I use first quality after-market repair parts supplied by one of the world's largest speaker parts suppliers.

Below is a list of some of the brands I have worked on:
- Acoustic Research
- KLH
- Advent
- Bose
- Infinity
- Snell
- B&W
- Rogers
- Polk Audio
- Electrovoice
- Klipsch
- McIntosh
- JBL, both home and pro-audio
- Boston Acoustics
- Eckman
- ADS
- Prodigy
- Energy
- Fisher
- Warfdale
- Eminence pro-audio
- Ensemble Reference (high-end Swiss made 2-way)
You are welcome to visit my FAQ page to learn more about the advantages of salvaging vintage speakers. There is something about those walnut veneered cabinets that is worth reviving. Moreover, there is also the laid back sound of a classic AR 3a, KLH or Advent speaker that many vintage-audiophiles love.

Because Carl’s Custom Loudspeakers is a home based business, I can offer very competitive pricing on all services. I also warrantee every job for 1 year, parts and labor. There are simply too many brands and sizes of speakers to try and devote a web site price list to. Call or write and let’s discuss your specific needs.
